「Khawr AwqadKHAWR AWQAD建築計畫，未沒有把高樓大廈移進渡假村，也沒有現代新奇怪狀的設計，而是在保有古樸建築風格之中，加入了現代建築與生態永續發展的概念。將獨有的阿曼傳統和設計基調滲透此建案的核心，表現在新「Khawr Awqad」社區的設計上，現代化之中運用傳統形式和地方建築材料，在當代阿曼文化中求平衡。在建築外觀上，結合地方遺產和文化，融入此區被運用好幾個世紀的兩項特色。其一是以當地傳統的石灰石石材作為主要建材，因為石灰石有著不需過於保護且歷經歲月摧殘，卻依舊可保存完好的特性；其二則是灌溉工程體系的建構，以符合當地介於沙漠與海的束縛中、自然資源缺乏的狀態。」
